Your last day of work, your last employer-system login and the end of a card account are not automatically the same event. Treat them as separate tracks when preparing to leave a job.
This is a record-and-question checklist, not legal advice or a statement of your account’s continuation rules. No assumption about a Fintwist card following you to a new employer should replace the current agreement and verified program guidance.
Track one: identify the final employer payment
Ask payroll which work period is still unpaid, how final statements will be supplied and where the final payment is expected to go. Ask separately about outstanding expenses, corrections or other items relevant to your employment. An answer about ordinary wages may not resolve every open item.
The US Department of Labor explains that federal law does not generally require an immediate final paycheck, while some states impose different requirements. That is a reason to check the applicable state rule, not to assume the next ordinary payday is always sufficient. This publication cannot determine a legal deadline or whether a particular payment is owed.
Track two: preserve authorized access to your records
Ask when access to the employer’s statement system ends and what route former employees use afterward. Save copies of personal pay records you are entitled to retain through the official download process, while access is available. Do not take employer confidential files or other workers’ information.
Check that the saved file opens and identifies the relevant employer, period and statement version. A filename alone is not verification. Keep an index so you can tell which months or payment dates are missing without reopening every document. Retain copies in a location you control, protected from other users of a shared device.
Track three: ask the provider about the card
Use the contact on the card or the current program documentation to ask what happens after employment ends. Questions may include continued access to existing funds, later payroll corrections, future direct deposits, applicable ongoing conditions and the process for eventually closing the account. Do not assume the answers are the same for all issuers or employer arrangements.
The current Corpay Prepaid information still uses Fintwist in parts of its card guidance and points to account-specific terms. A brand transition is not evidence that your card is being closed, replaced or automatically connected to a new employer. The next employer’s payroll enrollment is a separate process.
Keep contact updates separate
If your personal contact details change, ask each relevant organization how to update them securely. An address change in an employer portal may not update the card provider, and an account-profile update may not reach former payroll. Do not send identity documents to this publication; it has no role in those changes.
Keep four entries: last work period to be paid; expected statement route; verified former-employee contact; unresolved card-program questions. Add dates and the source of each answer. Mark an item complete only when the relevant record or response is actually available.
Finish outstanding items without merging them
A final statement can be available while a deposit still needs explanation. A card can remain usable while employer portal access has ended. Keep those statuses distinct. If a promised follow-up does not happen, use the existing reference and ask about the specific unresolved item rather than restarting the whole story.
For concerns about overdue final wages, consult the relevant labor authority promptly. For account issues, use verified provider support. Store the resulting records using the pay-record filing method, which avoids relying on one employer login for long-term access.
